frequently asked questions

What if I am interested in selling Heidi Hats &/or Heidi Bottoms at my store or boutique?

That's what we love to hear! Our website is fabulous; however, many color-combinations and fabrics are only available through our retailers. We have done this in part to encourage you to support the great stores that have helped promote our products. The retailers who carry Heidi Hats and Heidi Bottoms are respectable and hard-working, committed to hooking you up with the hottest items. Please refer to our wholesale ordering page to contact Heidi Hat to express your interest in carrying our products in your store, we'd love to discuss details.

What’s the story, how are you looking out for mother earth and participating in the eco-friendly trend?

We do consider our entire line eco-friendly, as our products are completely manufactured and produced in Colorado, hand-sewn by seamstresses that live in the Roaring Fork Valley (just outside of Aspen) - so from start to finish, our heidi hat / heidi bottom apparel is designed, created, manufactured, distributed all from within Colorado; of our subcontractors, printing services, etc. are local contacts, businesses and vendors. All of our fabrics are sourced from the US (NYC and LA). Our contribution to being eco-friendly is our commitment to local manufacturing and production in all aspects, thus lessening our carbon footprint.

Will your Heidi Hats fit my cranium?

Generally speaking, Heidi Hats fit the average head; they are one size fits most. The fleece fits comfortably, stretching and giving, but also forming to you and your needs. If you're extra intelligent and have a massive skull, definitely let us know, we can alter a hat for you, and vice versa if you're small-headed (but not by any means less intelligent).

How do I care for my Heidi Hat?

Pet it, Talk to it, Love it. OK, for reals, here's the deal: We recommend washing your Heidi Hat as little as possible, since they are handmade and often have sparkles, silks, beads, or other delicate fabrics and detail.

Solid polar fleece hats can be machine washed in cold water, gentle cycle, in a lingerie bag. Dry lightly, low heat to fluff. Finish by hanging to dry.

All other hats/accessories with fabrics including fake furs, brocades, slinky fabrics, should be hand washed in cold water. You may put it in the dryer, no heat setting, for a few minutes, then hang to dry.

Pony-tail pillbox: Definitely close that Velcro, or it could get ugly. Velcro can cling like a leech & damage other fabrics it comes in contact with. Play it safe!

How do I care for my Heidi Bottoms?

Carefully. They can handle normal wear and tear, but they are like a swimsuit, so treat them appropriately. We like to wash 'em like you would your favorite swimsuit or your expensive thongs. This would imply hand washing in cold water, with mild soap/detergent, or if you prefer in the washer, in a lingerie bag, gentle cycle, mild detergent. You may put them in the dryer, no heat setting, for a few minutes, then hang to dry. Hand washing extends their life, and we want them to live a long, happy life.

What if I don't like what I purchased?

Tough luck. No, just kidding, Heidi Hat is happy to do an exchange with you, for something else you may like instead, within 14 days of purchase as long as the tags are still on and the item has not been worn. Yeah, you heard it, no refunds. We are a small company, and it starts getting complicated sending out refunds and all that jazz. All exchanges are paid for by the customer unless there is a company fault. To keep it simple, we want to help you find something you will like and cherish. You pay the shipping. Give us a holler, we'll help you out and make sure you are satisfied and smiling.

How can I buy a Heidi Hat or Heidi Bottom that I saw somewhere but is not pictured on your fabulous site?

So glad you asked. Simply contact the stylish divas over at Heidi Hat, we'll assist you and make sure you find exactly what you're looking for.

What if the charm/bead on the top of my hat mysteriously falls off?

Absolutely, positively, no problemo! Those fancy novelties are guaranteed for life. Yeah, baby! While we may not have the exact same bead your hat came into this world with, we will happily replace it with a fancy-shmancy one to your liking. You pay the shipping (the hospital bills), and we'll do the stitching.

Will you donate to my charity or non-profit organization?

Don't hesitate to call or email, and let us know what you're about and what you represent. Heidi Hat enjoys making contributions to local organizations and is currently a proud member of One Percent For The Planet (http://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org/), donating 1% of all sales to the natural environment.
